We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth clinic flow, accurate documentation, and compassionate patient interactions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced medical environment while making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. This does involve traveling to satellite clinics Every other Monday and Wednesday, locations include Chickasha, Anadarko and Weatherford. Mileage reimbursement on your paycheck for those travel days.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
• Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support procedures in accordance with safety protocols.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans.
• Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical records.
• Facilitate patient education by explaining procedures, medication instructions, and follow-up care instructions clearly and compassionately.
• Prior Authorizations for diagnostic imaging, and injections.
• Assist with laboratory procedures including specimen collection and processing for diagnostic testing.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a medical office setting or clinical environment is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical documentation practices.
• Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
• Experience working in specialized settings such as clinics, hospital medicine units—including ICU or PICU—urgent care centers, or emergency medicine is advantageous.
• Inpatient or outpatient experience within a Level I Trauma Center or Geriatrics setting is a plus.
• Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures, pharmacology principles, and medication administration enhances your ability to excel in this role.
